The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) conducted a comprehensive awareness session on September 16, 2025, at the Airport & Aviation Services main auditorium in Katunayake. The session focused on proper complaint lodging procedures regarding bribery and corruption, prevention strategies, and systemic reforms in middle management operational areas.

Senior and middle management officials from Airport & Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Ltd actively participated in the training program, engaging with various aspects of procurement management systems and in-depth corruption prevention measures through interactive discussions and questionnaires.

The three-hour session was led by Assistant Director (Legal) Mrs. Bakthi Chethana Karunananda, an expert in corruption legal prosecution, along with Prevention Officer Mr. Shilamega Welithotage. Both officials shared their extensive expertise through practical examples and case studies.

Airport & Aviation Services plays a crucial role in managing Bandaranaike International Airport's meticulous and complex operational systems, coordinating with multiple agencies including Sri Lankan Airlines, the Customs Department, Immigration Department, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth services for both local and international passengers.

This practical awareness session provided aviation officers with valuable insights to address both day-to-day challenges and long-term institutional issues related to corruption prevention and operational transparency.

The training initiative reflects CIABOC's ongoing commitment to strengthening anti-corruption measures across key state institutions and promoting ethical governance practices within Sri Lanka's aviation sector.
