Bribery and Corruption Prevention Program for future Town Planners of the Institute of Town Planners Sri Lanka

The Institute of Town Planners Sri Lanka (ITPSL) is conducting the Part III Examination program to prepare and groom future Town Planners in Sri Lanka. As part of Competency 03 of the program a workshop is scheduled on 21st September 2025 at the ITPSL Auditorium on the theme “Role of Young Town Planning Professionals towards a Country free from Bribery and Corruption”.

Ms. Udeshika Jayasekara, Corruption Prevention Officer of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, provided resources for this. Through this, awareness was raised on the prevention of bribery and corruption and its consequences, the problems they have in this regard and the concept of integrity, and the new provisions of the Anti-Corruption Act. The session aims to create awareness and foster dialogue among young town planning professionals on their role in ensuring integrity, transparency and accountability in professional practice there by contributing to a corruption-free Sri Lanka.
