Police Constable arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs. 01 Million

The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested a Police Constable served at the Division Criminal Investigation Unit assigned to Jaffna Headquarters Police on an alleged solicitation and acceptance of a bribe of Rs.01 million on 17.01.2023 in accordance with a complaint received to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.

The suspect was arrested at weekly fair, Santhana, Jaffna when receiving the bribe of Rs.01 million to act in favor of the complainant in the investigation conducted by the Division Special Criminal Investigation Unit against the complainant.
