The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested a Police Sergeant of the Police Station, Maharagama on alleged acceptance of a bribe of Rs.20,000/= in Maharagama town on 03.03.2021 in accordance with a complaint lodged by a Canadian citizen.
The complainant and the cab owned by him had been arrested and produced before the court on a criminal charge by the Police, Maharagama. Later, the suspect was thus arrested when he had solicited and received a bribe of Rs. 20,000/- in order not to oppose to release the cab at the court.
