A coroner was arrested for receiving a bribe of Rs.3000/=

The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested a coroner in Beruwala division on alleged soliciting and receiving a bribe of 3000/= on 03.08.2021 in accordance with a complaint lodged by a businessman in Dharga Town, Aluthgama.

The suspect was thus arrested when he had solicited and received the bribe of Rs.3000/= to issue the coroner’s report required to register the death certificate of the complainant’s deceased elder brother to obtain the Samurdhi subsidy entitled to the deceased.
