Two Forest Field Assistants assigned to Range Forest Office, Liyangolla were arrested when accepting a bribe of Rs. 7,000/-

The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested two Forest Field Assistants assigned to the Range Forest Office, Liyangolla on alleged soliciting and receiving a bribe of Rs.7,000/- on 30.09.2021 in accordance with a complaint received by the Commission.

The complainant is engaged in farming in a land in Kongaspitiya .The suspects have claimed that the complainant had set on fire to the reserve adjoining the said land and have solicited a bribe of Rs.7,000/- to abstain from taking legal action against the complainant. The arrest was taken place when suspects were receiving the bribe.
