The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested a Grama Niladhari of Kandewatta Division (Acting Grama Niladhari of Piyadigama Division) Galle, while soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000/= on 02.09.2022 in order to issue wooden logs transportation permits to the complainant.
The suspect was thus arrested when he had solicited and accepted the said amount of money as a bribe at Sudarshanaramaya, Piyadigama Temple to prepare permits for timber transport on behalf of the transportation of some Jak wood purchased by the complainant.
