Following a complaint lodged by a businessman in the Mullaitivu area, Investigation Officers of the Commission arrested Sunmugarasa Pradeepan and Kasipillai Kandeepan, an Accountant and a Management Assistant, respectively, at the Mullaitivu District Hospital. The arrest was made on allegations of soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs. 30,000/-, which was demanded to release the cheque intended as the March payment under the tender for washing and cleaning bed sheets at the hospital. The arrest was made at the Hospital’s Accounts Division on 18.04.2026.
