Investigation Officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption arrested a Sub Inspector attached to Kalmunai Headquarters Police Station on 22.11.2023 on allegations of accepting sexual bribe.

A case pending at the Kalmunai Courts against a woman residing in the Varipathanumchenai area (the complainant) was due to be taken up for hearing today and the suspect has solicited a sexual bribe from her for submitting an additional report to the courts favouring the complainant and for doing the needful to extend the court order of weekly signing at the Police Station given to her to a period of every month. The suspect was arrested inside a hotel in Kalmunai while he was attempting to take the solicited sexual bribe.
