According to a complaint made by a person in Katuwewa, Hambantota, Investigation Officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption arrested a Grama Niladhari at around 1452 hours on 31.01.2024.

The arrested Grama Niladhari has solicited Rs. 10,000/- from the complainant for making the necessary arrangements to change the recipient name of the electricity and water bills of his present residence to his name and also for changing the complainant’s residence. The arrest was made inside the relevant Grama Nildhari office on allegations of soliciting and accepting a bribe.
