The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested the Grama Niladhari of No:333, Kusumpura Grama Niladhari division who has been assigned to Divisional Secretariat, Nochchiyagama on alleged soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000/= on 22.09.2022 in accordance with a complaint received by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.
The suspect was thus arrested when he had solicited and accepted Rs.10,000/= as a bribe in front of New Lanka Tea-Room Hotel, No.113, Puttalam Road, Nochchiyagama in order to support to run a mobile wood chipping work smoothly without a permit and not to take any legal action against this business .
