A Technical Officer arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000/-

On a complaint made to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested a Technical Officer serves at the Divisional Engineers Office, Mathugama on 25.08.2023 for accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000/-.

The suspect was arrested in front of the Police Station, Mathugama when soliciting and accepting the bribe of Rs. 5,000/- to make necessary arrangements to prepare the bills related to a contract completed by the complainant and to recommend the said bills by his office .
