Chairman of the Central Environmental Authority who solicited a bribe of Rs. 10 million and accepted it through two accomplices was arrested with the two accomplices

The Chairman of the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) and two accomplices were arrested by officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption on 10.11.2023.

The CEA Chairman has solicited a bribe of Rs. 10 million from the complainant to issue the annual Environmental Protection License for the business on refining discarded fuel and has accepted the bribe through two accomplices. The Chairman of the CEA and the two accomplices were arrested while accepting the said bribe.
