The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) in collaboration with the University of Sri Jayewardenepura organized an awareness-raising program for university students on the prevention of bribery and corruption

As ongoing series of programs this program was held on 31st August 2023 at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The program had the participation of Prof. W.A.S. Wijekoon - Head of the Department of Sociology at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, as well as Mr. Tharindu - Lecturer from the same department. The main audience for the program consisted of undergraduates from the Department of Sociology at the university.

The program comprised three sessions with the aim of educating participants about the issue of corruption in Sri Lanka, the country's international ranking in terms of corruption, and the role that undergraduates can play as future leaders in promoting integrity and combating corruption. The primary objective of the program was to provide education and awareness to university students on the topic of bribery and corruption. It aimed to go beyond mere awareness and work towards changing the attitudes of young people regarding current social issues and their responsibilities as responsible citizens.

The program was conducted by professionals from CIABOC, including Mrs. Ruwini Wickramasinghe (Deputy Director General), Mr. Sampath Arachchige (Corruption Prevention Officer), Mrs. Ishani Wijesooriya (Corruption Prevention Officer), and Ms. Nipuni Tennakoon (Corruption Prevention Officer). These experts likely shared insights, information, and strategies related to preventing and addressing bribery and corruption.
