CIABOC (Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption) and UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) joined forces to host their Training of Trainers (TOT) program in the Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka, achieving resounding success.
In an ambitious journey to fulfill the five-year National Action Plan aimed at upholding integrity in the public service, this marked CIABOC's seventh step in training civil servants as anti-corruption trainers. The selected province, comprising Ratnapura and Kegalle. Hence, recognizing the importance of reaching a substantial portion of the local populace.
The Sabaragamuwa Province, known for its rich vibrant cultural tapestry, faces a myriad of issues in the daily lives of its people, some of which remain hidden. Over the course of a three-day residential program, Divisional Secretaries from Ratnapura and Kegalle were introduced to new provisions in bribery laws and delved deep into strategies for long-term corruption prevention.
