A discussion with the top management of the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited was held on 01.03.2024 at its Minister’s bungalow, primarily focusing on a mechanism to fight bribery and corruption at BIA.

Mr. Damith Kanishka Wijeratne (Director General of the Commission), Mrs. Mayuri Udawela (Deputy Director General), Mrs. Anuththara Jayasinghe (Assistant Director General), Mrs. Thushari Dayaratne (Assistant Director General), Ms. Thanuja Bandara (Assistant Director General), Mr. Raj Kumar (ASP), Mr. Sumendra (ASP) and Prevention Officers Mr. Shammi Srilal and Mrs. Udeshika Jayasekara participated in the discussions on behalf of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.

Headed by the Chairman of the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited, officers of 05 main divisions involved in operational activities, namely, Airport Security, Airport Management, Legal, Strategic Management and Security Intelligence, participated the discussion. The discussions primarily focused on obtaining the Commission’s assistance to take action against bribery and corruption at the airport. It was also decided to have awareness-raising programmes in the future for the entire BIA staff and to appoint an Integrity Officer and an Integrity Committee to the BIA.
