“The Programme for Establishing Integrity Clubs in Schools”, the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) organized to endow a “Generation devoid of bribery and corruption”, was held on 20th June 2024 at Hotel Green Grass, Jaffna.
The programme was conducted under the patronage of Mr. A. Subhaharan – Jaffna District Assistant Provincial Director of Education and Mr. C. John Quinton – Provincial Director of Education (Northern Province). Altogether, 100 students and teachers representing Jaffna Hindu College, Hindu Ladies College, Skandavarodaya Maha Vidyalaya, Hartley College and Chavakachcheri Hindu College attended the programme.
All the programmes were conducted in Tamil medium and aimed to develop integrity-bound leadership within children and instil integrity concepts. For this purpose, resource persons explained on enhancing integrity and its practical applications, humanity, leadership qualities, and on establishing integrity clubs. The opportunity was also given for the children to showcase their talents to enhance their integrity.
Under the guidance of Mrs. Dushmanthi Rajapakse (Assistant Director General-CIABOC), Mr. Mohammed Firthavus (Lecturer), Mr. S. M. Sabry (Assistant Director -Legal), and Mr. M. M. M. Saffan (Management Service Officer) provided the resource contribution. Mr. Dulaj Wijewardena, IT Assistant, provided the technical assistance and Prevention Officer Mrs. Udeshika Jayasekara handled the coordination matters.
