The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC), in partnership with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), successfully conducted a Strengthening Integrity Programme for its executives on Saturday, February 8, 2025. The event was held as part of the Clean Sri Lanka Initiative Week, a nationwide campaign introduced by the Honorable President to foster cleanliness, ethical governance, and public accountability.
Despite being held on a weekend, the workshop achieved full attendance, demonstrating the executives' strong commitment to addressing bribery and corruption. Corruption Prevention Officer Shilamega Welithotage from CIABOC served as the resource person, providing valuable guidance on enhancing transparency and integrity within municipal operations.
The Legal and Human Resource departments of CMC played a key role in organizing the event, which focused on practical measures to tackle ethical challenges and strengthen institutional frameworks. The high turnout and active participation highlighted the collective effort to support the Clean Sri Lanka vision.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to embed anti-corruption practices and promote accountability across Sri Lanka’s public sector institutions.
