This Writ petition was filed to halt investigations conducted against the officers of the Department of Motor Traffic Officers who used its database to issue an illegal vehicle registration permit to a Mini Cooper vehicle and thereby caused a loss to the government.

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption took the Mini Cooper into its custody and handed it over to Sri Lanka Customs.

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption expects to serve indictments against the said suspects in due course.
