The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) conducts Training of Trainers (TOT) programmes in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government. These programmes are conducted under the theme, “Let’s make Sri Lanka a bribery and corruption free nation” and its fifth and sixth programmes were conducted successfully in Northern and North-Western provinces. Accordingly, 06 programmes of this series have now been completed.
This residential training programme is conducted with the objective of moving Sri Lanka towards integrity by uplifting integrity in the public service, and it expects the Trainers (Divisional Secretaries/ (Assistant Divisional Secretaries) to conduct these programmes in their respective Divisions.
The TOT programme of the Northern Province was conducted under the chair of Mrs. M. Y. R. K. Udawela, Deputy Director General of CIABOC, at Hotel North Gate, Jaffna from 25th to 27th November. Resource contribution for the programme was provided by Ms. Thanuja Bandara - Asst. Director General (CIABOC), Mr. S. M. Sabri - Asst. Director (Legal), CIABOC, Mr. Jagath Liyanarachchi – Attorney-at-Law, Mr. Gauridasan - Consultant (SLIDA), Mr. A. Siwabalasundaran – District Secretary, Jaffna, and Dr. Gajavinda – Department of Psychology and Philosophy, University of Jaffna. Mrs. Udeshika Jayasekara, Prevention Officer, was the compere.
Further, the TOT programme of the North-Western Province was conducted under the chair of Mr. Chandra Nimal Wakishta – former Commissioner, CIABOC and Mrs. M. Y. R. K. Udawela, Deputy Director General - CIABOC, at Hotel Occidental Paradise, Dambulla from 1 st to 03 rd December. Resource contribution for the programme was provided by Ms. Thanuja Bandara - Asst. Director General and Mr. S. M. Sabri - Asst. Director (Legal) of the CIABOC, Mr. Jagath Liyanarachchi – Attorney-at-Law, Mr. Tharindu Dananjaya Weerasinghe – Senior Lecturer, University of Kelaniya, Attorney-at-Law, Mr. Malika Amarasekara – Consultant & Career Coach, and Mr. M. L. Gammampila – Additional Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial and Local Government. Kurunegala District Secretary, Puttalum District Secretary, Deputy Chief Secretary of the North-Western Province and Divisional Secretaries of the North-Westren Province participated in the workshop. Mrs. T. M. N. K. Tennakoon, Prevention Officer, was the compere.
