High Court Judge Ranga Srinath Abeywickrama Dissanayake assumed office as the new Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption (CIABOC) on 10 January 2025 following the appointment H. E. the President made on 08 January 2025. This appointment has been made in terms of the powers vested in the President by Section 17 (1) of the Anti-Corruption Act, No. 9 of 2023.

After the resignation of the former Director General of the Commission, High Court Judge W. K. D. Wijeratne on 07 October 2024, Mrs. M. R. Y. K. Udawela, Additional Director General of the Commission was appointed in terms of Section 25(2) of the Act to exercise the powers, duties and functions of the Director General from 10 October 2024 (until a new Director General is appointed). During this period, she took action to prepare and submit 62 indictments to the court on the directive of the Commission.

This is a significant performance the Commission has achieved during a short period.
