The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested a Police Sergeant serves at the Police Station, Madawachchiya on an alleged solicitation and acceptance of a bribe of Rs. 350,000/- on 31.01.2023 in accordance with a compliant received to CIABOC. The suspect was arrested at the complainant’s house in Madawachchiya, Konakumbukgollawa when accepting the bribe of Rs. 350,000/- for making necessary arrangements to negotiate with the other party and to discharge him from cases pending in the High Court, Anuradhapura regarding an alleged abuse and a rape and to abstain from arresting and presenting him before the court according to the warrants issued with regard to the above cases.
