Indictment has been filed on 30^th November 2017 against the former Minister Wimal Weerawansa under Section 23(A) of the Bribery Act on the presumption that the source of Rs.50Million which he had spent exceeding the known income during the period of 2009 – 2014 was acquired by bribery.

Three Police Officers attached to the Traffic Division of Polgahawela Police Station were taken into custody on 14.12.2017 by the Investigation Officers of CIABOC when obtaining a bribe of Rs.3,000/-.

4years rigorous imprisonment for a Police Sergeant attached to the Kekirawa Police Station.

On 25.10.2017, the Investigation Officers of CIABOC have apprehended a Temporary Valuer of People’s Insurance Company, a subsidiary of People’s Bank when obtaininga bribe of Rs.5,000/- to issue a valuation report for an insurance claim related to an accident of a private bus.
