The National Consultation forum for the private sector and foreign officials was held on the 03rd of July 2018, at the Movenpick Hotel, Colombo 03. Participants included representatives of several Foreign High Commissions as well as private sector officials from various companies.
Mr. Sarath Jayamanne, PC – Director General of CIABOC, addressed the gathering by highlighting the existing legal framework of Sri Lanka and the proposed amendment thereunder. Director General of Empliyer’s Federation of Ceylon, Mr. Kanishka Weerasungheexpressed his views with regards to best practices and rules followed in the private sector with a view to prevent bribery and corruption, elaborating on their willingness to participate in the initiative of formulating a national action plan. The deliberations that followed included areas covering the internal systems of the relevant institutes while significance was given to the involvement of anti-corruption regimes within the foreign investment environment.
