These workshops were held on 31st October 2018 and 01st November 2018 at All Saint’s College and Southland College of Galle and Opatha Maha Vidyalaya of Matara by the officers of the Education Unit of the Corruption Prevention Division of CIABOC.

Investigation Officers of CIABOC have apprehended a Fisheries Inspector of the Fisheries Office of Trincomalee for obtaining a bribe of Rs.35,000/- through a civil person to expedite the preparation of documents to issue a license for an unregistered boat engine.

No of 60 convictions get the CIABOC through out this year. it is a higher amount comparison to past years.

An Amount of Rs 200 mn has been allocated by the approval of the cabinet of Ministers for the Prevention Programs in Public Institutions.

Specialized officers for the Investigations field of Accountants ,Finance ,Bonds and IT etc about 8000 applications have been received and the examination in that regard will be held on Saturday the 27th October 2018.

Actions are being taken to launch the National Action Plan for combating Bribery and Corruption which has been a long time requirement of the country.

The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested the Mahaweli Unit Manager of Welikanda, Singhapura, and Muthuwella area on 19.10.2018 for soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs.20, 000 /- from the complainant to issue recommendations in order to obtain a land permit for the complainant’s residence land owned by the Mahawelli Development Authority.
