The final discussions in formulating National Action Plan against Bribery and Corruption was held on 04th October 2018 at Jaic Hilton Colombo under the patronage of the Director General of CIABOC with the participation of Heads of Public Institutions.
An Import and Export Controller has been arrested by the Investigation Officers of CIABOC on 20.07.2018 while accepting a bribe of Rs.2 lakhs from the complainant who has been solicited a bribe to issue a permit recommended by the Import and Export Department for the legal importation of two 10year old vehicles from Japan.
The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested the Chairman of NLDB and an Assistant Account of one of his companies while accepting a bribe of Rs.600, 000 from a businessman of Katugasthota area on 5th of October 2018.
CIABOC has organized World Children's Day Programe at WaligamaMuniciple Council Auditorium with the view of preventing children from corruption and bribery and to uplift the country with intergrity. Commissioner III, Mr. Neville Guruge, Director General Mr. Sarath Jayamanne Presidents Counsel, Deputy Director Generals in CIABOC and CIABOC staff were participated in this programe. Many school children of Southern Province were gathered to this occation.

The Panelist from Sri Lanka " CIABOC Commissioner II Justice Ranjith Silva" spoke of his country's technical assistance needs in relation to the "Citizen's Charter", which was based on the recognition by his government that many public officials did not fully understand their role as public servants.In order to address this , each public institution would display a clear outline of each step of the process required to receive services from the institution.Creating a transparent process would inform public officials of what was required from them,while at the same time ,prevent opportunities for corruption.
