Training of Trainers Residential Workshop (Southern Province) for Implementation of the National Action Plan for Combatting Bribery and Corruption in Sri Lanka

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, under the funding of the JURE project of UNDP and in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government, conducts Training of Trainers (TOT) programmes. These TOT programmes are conducted under the theme, “ Towards a Country of Integrity”, and its final programme was conducted successfully in the Southern Province. Accordingly, it has now completed 09 programmes of this series.

The residential programme was conducted with the objective of moving Sri Lanka towards integrity through enhancing integrity in the public service, and the Trainers who are trained here (Divisional Secretaries, Assistant Divisional Secretaries and other Staff Grade Officers) are expected to conduct these programmes in their relevant divisions.

The TOT of the Southern Province was conducted under the patronage of Mr. Neil Iddawela (Chairman – CIABOC), Mr. K. Bernard Rajapakse (Commissioner-CIABOC) and Mrs. M. Y. R. K. Udawela (Additional Director General). It was held from 17th to 19th May 2024 at Hotel Citrus, Hikkaduwa.

Resource contribution for the programme was provided by Ms. Thanuja Bandara - Asst. Director General (CIABOC), Mr. M. L. Gammampila–Additional Secretary (Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government), Mr. Tharindu Dananjaya Weerasinghe – Senior Lecturer, University of Kelaniya, Mr. Jagath Liyanarachchi – Attorney-at-Law, and Mr. Malika Amarasekara – Consultant & Career Coach. Prevention Officer Mr. Sanpath Arachchige handled the coordination matters of the workshop.

District Secretaries of Galle, Matara and Hambantota districts, Divisional Secretaries and Assistant Divisional Secretaries of the Southern Province attended this workshop.
