The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested a Sub Inspector of Police acted as the Officer in Charge of District Intelligence Bureau - Talaimannar on alleged receiving a bribe of Rs.25,000/= on 02.02.2022 in accordance with a complaint received to the Bribery Commission.

An Awareness Programme has been conducted on 04 January 2022 as the first phase of the Complaint Boxes Installation Project of Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte Municipal Council under the leadership of Mrs. Shalika Ranaweera, Municipal Commissioner, and with the participation of other staff members. In the future, a complaint box is planned to be installed in that institution and the general public will be able to forward their complaints through that.

The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested the Principal of WP/Gam/ Thakshila Vidyalaya, Gampaha on alleged soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs.200,000/= on 23.12.2021 in accordance with a complaint received by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.

The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested a Land Officer at Eravur Pattu Divisional Secretariat , Chenkalady on  22.12.2021 on alleged soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs.100,000/=  in accordance with a complaint received to the Bribery Commission.

This refers to the interview for the recruitment to the post of Assistant Director (Legal) of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption. Please be informed that this interview had to be postponed due to an unavoidable reason and the dates on which the interviews are scheduled to be held will be notified later.

The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested a Courts Registrar of Teldeniya District Magistrate Court for soliciting and receiving a bribe of Rs.10,000/= on 17.11.2021 in accordance with a complaint received to the Bribery Commission.

The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested a Chief Inspector of Police acted as the OIC of the police station, Wanathawilluwa on 28.10.2021 for attempting to get a sexual bribe  in accordance with a complaint received to the Bribery Commission.

The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested a Divisional Agrarian Development Officer serving Agrarian Services Centre , Pahalagam Haya, Miriswatta, Bentota on alleged soliciting and accepting  a bribe of Rs. 25,000/= on 25.10.2021 in accordance with a complaint received by a farmer residing at Aluthgama.

The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested a Beat Forest Officer from Mahakumbukkadawala assinged to the Range Forest Office, Anamaduwa of the Department of the Forest Conservation on alleged soliciting a bribe of Rs.20, 000/- on 12.10.2021 in accordance with a complaint received by the Commission Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.

The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested a Revenue Inspector serving "Kaluthavalai Pradeshiya Sabha" has solicited a bribe of Rs. 300,000/= and accepting Rs.25,000/= of the said bribe on 05.10.2021 in accordance with a complaint received to the Bribery Commission.

The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested two Forest Field Assistants assigned to the Range Forest Office, Liyangolla on alleged soliciting and receiving a bribe of Rs.7,000/- on 30.09.2021 in accordance with a complaint received by the Commission.

Former Labour Officer, H.N. Sunil Lal attached to District Labour Office Mathara was convicted by the Colombo High Court Judge Hon. Mr. A. K. M. Patabendhige on 6 th August 2021 for all four counts of the indictment served by the Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.
