Three Police Officers attached to the Galenbidunuwewa Police Station were convicted for all charges by Hon. High Court Judge Mr.Sampath Wijerathne for soliciting a bribe of Rs.20000/- and accepting of a bribe of Rs.10000/- from the complainant who was an illicit brewer in order to refrain from filing an action against him.

The National Action Plan for Combatting Bribery and Corruption in Sri Lanka 2019 – 2023 (NAP) was ceremonially launched today, 18 March 2019 in Colombo.  His Excellency, Maithripala Sirisena, the President of Sri Lanka graced the occasion as the chief guest. The Honourable Speaker, the Honourable Leader of the opposition, Parliamentarians, religious leaders, members of the diplomatic corps representing over 50 countries, Officials of International Organizations, senior public officials, members of the civil society were among the 1250 other invitees representing all segments of society.

His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena, the President of Sri Lanka is now addressing the gathering at the ceremonial launch of the National Action Plan for Combating Bribery and Corruption in Sri Lanka.

The Director General of CIABOC officially presents the National Action Plan for Combating Bribery and Corruption in Sri Lanka to His Excellency, the President. Trilingual copies of the Action Plan are now available to be downloaded on this website.

The attendees collectively recited the following integrity oath: “As an exemplary citizen, I will strive at all times to eradicate all forms of bribery and corruption from this splendid land gifted to us by nature, to secure a better tomorrow for our future generations. I solemnly declare and affirm/ swear this with confidence, inspired by the integrity of my conscience”

Director General of the Commission to investigate allegations of bribery or corruption Mr.Sarath Jayamanne P.C will be interviewed on the Launch of the National Action Plan at a live programme in Rupavahini cooperation at 11.30am this morning.

Today Director General of CIABOC President’s Counsel Mr. Sarath Jayamanne was interviewed by the 24X7 TV Derana with regard to launch of the National Action Plan which will be scheduled to be held on 18th of March 2019.

A police sub inspector attached to Kahawata police station was convicted today by Hon. High Court Judge Mr.Vikum Kaluarachchi in Colombo High Court.
He was convicted for accepting and soliciting of a bribe of Rs.20000 from an illicit liquor dealer in order to retraining to file action against him.
The case was filled by CIABOC officer after the CIABOC Officers has conducted a raid.

A suspect in a rape case wanted a police constable in Wellawaya police station to substitute a blood sample that is scheduled to be sent to the government analyst for a DNA test.
