The Colombo High Court convicted a Judicial Management Assistant attached to the District/Magistrate Court Puttalam for accepting a bribe of Rs.4500/-.
Accordingly, the High Court Judge Mr. Gihan Kulathunge sentenced the accused for 10 years rigorous imprisonment, a fine of Rs. 10000/- and a penalty of Rs.4500/-. In defaulting one year imprisonment.
The officers of the CIABOC have arrested a Police Constable in Borella Police Station on 21.07.2019 when accepting a bribe of Rs.2000/- to return the belongings of the complainant taken by the Police and to abstain from taking legal action against an incident of an assault.
The officers of the CIABOC have arrested a Police Constable attached to the Vilgamuwa Police Station when accepting a bribe of Rs.50, 000/- to conduct an investigation on a complaint made in respect of loss of a power generator and to arrest the suspects.
