In connection with an investigation conducted by the CID pertaining to certain financial irregularities occurred in the Lanka Electricity Co.Pvt Ltd (LECO) ,CIABOC has filed a case in the Magistrate Court of Colombo against Abdul Hammed Mohamed Dhilip Nawaz a former Deputy Solicitor General of the Attorney General's Department who is presently sitting as a Judge of the Court of Appeal , Mr Peter Mohan Maithree Peiris former Attorney General and former Chief Justice and Mr M.M.Charles Ferdinando former Secretary to the Ministry of Power and Energy for offences which fall under sec 70 of the Bribery Act.
The Investigation Officers of the CIABOC have apprehended a Time-Keeper attached to the Road Passenger Transport Authority - Eastern Province on 17.01.2018 and Produced before the Magistrate Court – Ampara for obtaining a bribe of Rs.100/- from a bus running Akkarapattu- Batticaloa Route in order to keep the bus stationed in the queue until its turn for the journey and to make arrangements to drive without any obstacles from other running buses.
Colombo High Court Judge Mr. Gihan Kulathunga convicted and sentenced a Forest Officer for 4 years imprisonment today for committing the offence of acceptance of a bribe of Rs. 2500 from a villager.

Indictment has been filed on 30th November 2017 against the former Minister Wimal Weerawansa under Section 23(A) of the Bribery Act on the presumption that the source of Rs.50Million which he had spent exceeding the known income during the period of 2009 – 2014 was acquired by bribery.
Three Police Officers attached to the Traffic Division of Polgahawela Police Station were taken into custody on 14.12.2017 by the Investigation Officers of CIABOC when obtaining a bribe of Rs.3,000/-.
