The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption and the University Grants Commission had a special discussion for the implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan on 26th June 2025 to discuss matters on educating and empowering the university community on combatting bribery and corruption and integrity. This fruitful discussion took place at the Mini Auditorium of the Commission.
The National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA), one of Sri Lanka's most crucial institutions providing industrial education standardization services, conducted a comprehensive capacity building programme on July 23rd, 2025, in collaboration with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) at the NAITA main auditorium. The full-day intensive session, running from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, brought together all NAITA executives including the Chairman to address critical governance issues affecting the institution's operations across its 24 district units.
An Awareness Raising Programme, aimed at fostering a clean and ethical public service, was held for employees at the Postal Department Headquarters on 7 July 2025. The event took place in the Headquarters auditorium, with the Postmaster General, Mr. Ruwan Sathkumara, along with Executive Officers, Staff Grade Officers, and other staff members in attendance.
A Corruption Prevention Programme was conducted on 05 July 2025 for Staff Grade officers and other officers at the Road Passenger Transport Board, Southern Province. The programme was held in the auditorium of the Southern Province Development Training Institute with nearly 150 officers in attendance.
A Corruption Prevention Programme was conducted on 30 May 2025 for Staff Grade officers and other officers at the National Youth Council. The programme was held in the main auditorium of the Youth Council with nearly 100 officers in attendance.
The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) conducted an awareness session on June 9, 2025, at the Airport & Aviation Services main auditorium in Katunayake, focused on preventing bribery and corruption in specialized operating areas within the Civil Aviation Authority.
The Commission has organised a series of Corruption Prevention Programmes for officers of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, with another session held on 17 June 2025 at their office in Nawala. Mr. Sampath Arachchige, Prevention Officer of the Commission, shared valuable insights with attendees on the concept of integrity and emphasised the role and responsibilities of an efficient and effective public officer. He also briefed them on the Anti-Corruption Act, No. 9 of 2023, and laws related to bribery, corruption, and unlawful accumulation of assets. Furthermore, he explained the role of the Internal Affairs Units, and before concluding the programme, addressed the questions raised by the participants.
A Prevention Programme, themed “Towards a Country of Integrity”, was held on 6th June 2025 for Staff Grade officers of the Ministry of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation. The programme took place in the auditorium at the “Maga Neguma Mahamedura” premises.
Senior Superintendent exercise officers strengthened their knowledge on how their line of work interlinks with the New Anti-Corruption Act 2023 No. 09 provisions, particularly sections 36-39 regarding Prevention, on June 19, 2025, at the Exercise Department Training School in Panadaragama.
An informative session on the roles and responsibilities of Internal Affairs Units (IAUs) was conducted successfully by officials of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) on 11 Jun 25, at the Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake Auditorium. The event was designed to enhance the knowledge of SLN personnel serving in recently established IAUs.
A Corruption Prevention Programme was conducted on June 6, 2025, to provide knowledge on the prevention of bribery and corruption to a group of seventy police officers who attended the capacity development programme held at the Elpitiya Police Training College.
